SimonLifehouse - Simon Hit the wall, Scream out loud, As you start to crawl Back in your cage The only place Where they will Leave you alone. 'Cause the weak will Seek the weaker til they've broken them. Could you get it back again? Would it be the same? Fulfillment to their lack of strength at your expense, Left you with no defense; They tore it down. (Chorus): And I have felt the same as you, I've felt the same as you, I've felt the same. Locked inside The only place Where you feel sheltered, Where you feel safe. You lost yourself In your search to find Something else to hide behind. The fearful always preyed upon your confidence. Did they see the consequence, when they pushed you around? The arrogant build kingdoms made of the different ones, Breaking them 'til they've become just another crown. (Chorus) Refuse to feel anything at all, Refuse to slip, Refuse to fall. Can't be weak, Can't stand still, You watch your back 'cause no one will. You don't know why they had to go this far, Traded your worth for these scars, For your only company. And don't believe the lies That they have told to you. Not one word was true you're alright, you're alright, you're alright. (Chorus) Somehow, the lyrics of the first lifehouse album got me going for the past few days. Its the best of their three albums so far. The second, stanley climbfall was too..radio orientated, and the third had only three nice songs, the first three. The rest was okay, but it wasnt that good when compared to the first few. But their lyrics still remain awesome and very very inspirational. Get a listen to their first album, and you will know what i mean. But this song stuck to my head. It has been my favourite song ever since i knew about lifehouse. I didnt know why they had used the title "simon" for the song, but now i realise that it was based on the game "simon says", where the person has to repeat the other person actions. Similarly, Lifehouse is trying to bring across a message that says that everybody has felt the same way before, the feeling of lost, and defeat. Of pain, and of regret, hurt and suffering. Or so that's how i feel about it. But they end the song with the most amazing truth that one could ever hear. You are allright. Listening to another person saying that you are allright harnesses the true meaning of the word, and makes you feel better. Yes, you may be down, hurt and confused, but you friends around you comfort you, and hearing their words of comfort will bring you through. It may take plenty of time, but it will still bring you through. One day, hopefully Lifehouse comes to Singapore, or somewhere in this region. Then that will be the only ever concert i will go to. Even the up coming Damien Rice concert pales (maybe cause nobody listens to it, and nobody wanna go) when compared to it. But i can only hope. Justin ranted at 9:07:00 pm on the |
