The art of seductionThe art of seduction, a book that left me quite an impression when i first read it about two years back. Back then, i was the class geek (I got an old photo to prove it, but i dont think i will be that dumb to post it up. Maybe if i got drunk. But that is impossible. Heh). And you know how teenagers are, horny little bastards who cant get enough. So i though, wow, maybe this can help me!Thinking back, that was such a foolish statement. The book didnt help me in one bit, but only disillusioned me. But i remember the cases of seduction that took place throughout history. Not only sexual seduction, but the seduction of the masses, like John F Kennedy, who charmed the American people with his dignified ways. Even the ugly can seduce the beautiful, another example, Rasputin. And it was intriguing, how people can sometimes fall for the smallest of actions, or stumble and fall deeply in love with the most ardent seducer. The ways in which they do that are amazing. Again, if you are thinking about seduction as in sexually, the book will teach you nothing of that kind. Yes, there are guidelines, but nothing is explicitly stated. The wonder of the book is how it show and analyse how people become popular, how did Cleopatra exert her power over Julius Caesar, or how did Women started to seduce the public into thinking that women smoking is cool, when during the old days, only men could smoke. Granted, there are cases of sexual seduction, such as the famous Casanova, whose Diary makes for an interesting, if draggy and lengthy read. But the main thing that accentuates the book, is the sides. Filled with quotes from books and poems about seduction, it is literacy at its utmost perfection. Concise, and to the point, the quotes bring about a dimension to the book that can otherwise be thrown aside as another book that tries to teach you how to seduce. (By the way, if seduction is what you want, search online, and i guarentee alot of pages will come out. And there are some pretty useful, if indeed degratory information.) Maybe i will start out some posts analysing the quotes at the sides to the best of my capabilities. I never took literature before, except maybe during Secondary 1 and 2, but that was crap. I remember drawing and talking to my friends around me, ignoring the literature teacher, whom i swear doesnt seem to live up to anything. Unfortunately, it made me hate literature. For those who endured through, they got a pretty good literature teacher whom joked with them. I remember hearing their laughters while i study my geography electives. Sucks. But i digress. Oh, who can also forget the master of seduction, Elvis Presely? Heh. Justin ranted at 7:07:00 pm on the |
