Tarok Schafkopf

My friend left me two deck of german cards, called Tarock cards, if i am not wrong. Sadly, he is heading back to Germany, after his exchange trip to NTU is over.

Anyways, he gave me two decks of Tarock cards, and taught me a simple game on how to play them. One of the easy ways, which is played when ya drinking, is where everyone is deal the cards, and everyone puts out one card. The person who has the biggest number wins. Its that easy.

Now the interesting part comes when two person places the same cards. Then the whole group will go erugh, or war in german. i dont know whether i spelt it correctly or not, but its something like that. Then another set of cards are placed face down, and two cards are placed out again. The same rules apply.

Hilarity ensues when he told me to shout that Erugh loudly. I remember shouting it with him in the tunnel when we went out with two other people to Arab Street today.

I was searching on other ways to play the game, and i chanced upon something called Schafkopf. Apparently, it is an ancient game in German or something. And while reading the rules, it is apparently played similar to Bridge. With lesser cards, and i should think more rules. Maybe i just dont get the rules, but it is similar to Bridge, with a bidding system and all.

Anyone wanna try learning it? haha

the rules are here.

[Edited: Upon more searching, it appears that the American version for the game is called Sheepshead. And the rules are here. Shit, i must really go read this and teach more people so i can play. haha]
