Not even safe at homeNews year day, a time of eating bagua, getting ang baos, hearing your relatives go on about "how my god, how tall you are?" Or "Oh my god, how pretty you have become!" Probably because they havent seen you for quite some time. But yes, you do just nod your head, and smile through you way, as you dump junk food deep into the recesses of your mouth, and masticate away in silence, as your parents and relatives talk non-stop.Like a broken tape recorder, going on and on, until you fall deep asleep in the nice comfy cushion. Only to be waken up a few minutes later to say bye, and off you are, to somebody's else place and the whole process repeats itself. Of course, most of you would have been through chinese new year more than my fingers, and maybe even my toes can count, so it might just start to bore you to death somehow. Especially for me, since i dont have any cousins to relate to, except my mum side, but that's all. So it gets quite a drag sometimes. The interesting thing is that you get ang baos, of increasingly quantities every year. At least for me. The older i grew up, the more ang baos i seem to get every year, and the monetary value seems to increase a little too. But i digress. things havent actually been quite safe at home. And it was quite apparent today. I left my ang bao at home, and behold, one of it is gone, and its the one with the most cash. Sigh. hopefully things get settled real soon. It aint very comfy at home right now. Justin ranted at 1:14:00 am on the |
