Albums to listen to![]() Frou Frou - Details A 2002 album, but the songs are still pretty much relevant now. Music doesnt exactly grow old, or becomes outdated do they? Still, the album will pretty much fit in the current music trend. Imagine, dido, with abit of sultriness, mixed with smooth electronic beats, and a chill out ambience. This would, hopefully, be frou frou. Imogen Heap is amazing as a vocalist, her voice complementing the atmosphere that the album brings out. I assure you, her singing style is so unique, with breathy pauses in between holding the pitches, that you wouldnt be able to try and match that. Believe me, i tried. Haha. Give it a whirl if you just want chill out music and an angelic voice to match. One of my repeats for the post exam joys / bumming around. Listen to "Let go", "Breathe in", erm...basically any frou frou song. hahah ![]() Mae - The Everglow A classic hands down. The songs lead to each other in a way like a story, a story of love, from the beginnings of longing for love, to the sweetness, the bitterness, the fall, and the ultimate end in the end of it all. The second song, we're so far away breaks into a beautiful, raw piano piece, that emotes with such feeling, you cant help but sing along, and think about the meaning behind it all. The next few songs starts becoming more rock, with distorted guitars, but they maintain a sort of emotional rawness that isnt mask by the loud guitars. Infact, the guitars doesnt even make the song sound like your typical rock song. maybe its the vocal quality of the singer, but it makes for one heck of a ride. The only thing that i can imagine is its only flaw is it is too...similar. There isnt much variation, especially with the heavier songs with their loud guitars. It starts getting bland soon, and you would be wishing that there are more ballads or softer songs that are spread through the album. But, this doesnt mean the songs arent nice. A bit of variation would make this album perfect. Pop at its best. Get this, if not you might be doing yourself a big injustice. Tracks like "We're so far away", "Suspension", "This is the countdown" and "The sun and the moon" (Which is the most majestic ending song i have heard) will give you a feel of the album. ![]() Panic! at the disco - A fever you cant sweat out Impossibly catchy, the mix of techno beats with piano pieces. If you have listened to their hit single, i write sins, not tragedies, you would like to know that your whole album is styled almost like that song. Which is very catcy, kinda like dance music. Somehow, it doesnt rate highly in my view, but i give it a listen to distract me from all the rest of the indie music in my playlist. The mindless music just gives me something to release. Somehow, the way they have their song titles remind me of fall out boy, with long titles that i cant even bother to remember. Oh! i know why i wanna include already. The song just make me wanna dance. hahah. It is more like punk dance, or something like that. Impossibly catchy will sum it all up. "London Beckoned songs about money written by Machines", "Time to dance", "Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off" (Damn hilarious title), and "Build God, then we'll talk" are amazingly catchy. I just love that lyrics "Web dreams for webzine", and "A wonderful caricature of intimacy". All right, so i suck at writing album reviews. Crap, i know too little about music to write about it.
