In search of a distant voice

This is a great book. The characters are throughly composed, each with different nuances so brilliantly written. The exploration of sexuality, loneliness, love and what nots are constantly found in the book. A story about a man, who shares a part of his with this mysterious voice. I think my jaw dropped a few times in the book, at the bluntness of it all. The ending is abrupt, but mysterious again, giving the book a somewhat surreal read.

For those who dont like reading, well, its only almost two hundred pages, and the words arent that big. haha. read it.

Btw, i just watched history boys. Excellent movie if you are into literature. The dialouge takes some taking used to to understand, but it was witty, and there isnt that much of movies out there that you can say is witty. And it is hilarious as well, though tragic too. Even homosexuality is covered. It's excellent really, and some parts made me think of exams really. Are we just learning facts for our exams? Everyone learns the same things, and we write similar thing. One of them says we must write controversial answers and base them on proper evidence, like Hilter is actually a sweet guy or something like that. Amazing really, that we mug for our exams, but we never really learn anything substantial. Dont you think so? Education seems to be such a huge waste of our time at times.

I mean seriously, you learn say business. You take all the different modules, and at the end of the 3 or 4 years, you come out with a degree, honours if you are great. Do you remember anything that you have learned? How about something even more depressing. You, learning all about sciences, and then coming to a Arts course. That is how many years wasted?? I dont remember much maths from JC, maybe secondary school. Primary school is essential though. Secondary school maybe, but seriously, if you are taking education for the sake of getting a degree, it is kinda pointless. Then again, that degree is your whole world once you are out into the real world. So we pay money to universities, to get jobs and earn money from society. How monotonous.

But education is where the fun is. I have to admit, school is where all the fun is. Working will seriously feel like a drag soon, and you will miss the atmosphere of the school days. I missed my secondary school days most. I had the best fun then.

Enough of my rants.
