TaxisI realised that sometimes, in a taxi, it can be boring sometimes, especially when you are all alone. But the taxi drivers tend to open up once you start initiating conversations.I remember i had a few of such experiences. Once was this malay taxi driver who talked to me when i was going back home from one of my friend's place. It made the journey much more enjoyable, and pleasant too. Sometimes the taxi driver might be quiet, and wouldnt want to talk, but most of the time, if you time it right, they would open up and start just chatting about life and all sorts. Its nice to converse with a stranger, just chitchatting to make both of our lives easier. Didnt realise that taxi drivers work quite hard. Some people work a whole day, and rest maybe a day. Some people work in two shifts, 12 hours a time. Some people work everyday, 16 hours. One of the taxi drivers made a good but ultimately saddening point, when i asked him about spending time with family. "So how do they spend time with their family?" "*chuckles* they are trying to earn money for the family first. No money, how to spend time with family? Everywhere also must spend money. Must focus on the more important things first." That was a good point he made, of society in general. Everyone is all about money. I want to earn more, so that i can spend more. So i can give more. Money money money. Tell me that you dont want money. Which reminds me of the question that we always asked, would you rather do a job that you dislike but pays alot more than the job that you like, but pay quite little? I always thought it was the latter, until someone told me that they would take the job that they dislike, as they can earn more than the job that they like. They can stop working, and work the job that they like. Its a win win situation. Kinda unreal though, as i doubt you can job hop like that, but it was a good point made.
