i had a weird idea

that just popped into my head. take note please, this is intellectual property right here, so here goes.

while on the bus, i was looking at the hdb flats, and thinking how people are able to heave huge refrigerators up 15 storeys or more. granted there is the lift, but i remember how painful it is to carry them, especially when there really isnt any comfortable hand holds for you to hold. i remember getting blisters from helping my family shift all those washing machines and all. those sharp edges are really unkind.

so what if, what if, we can create a electromagnet, so strong, that it will not come off until you switched it off? we can stick two onto the side of a refrigerator for a person. and there you have it, a bona fide handhold that doesnt hurt! and with a flip of a button, you can switch it off, and it will then become just a bunch of wires!

brilliant isnt it? though probably there are many things to consider. like how big must the electromagnet be? how will you stop the handhold from breaking? stress tests? what if you accidentally flick the switch? it might even be so heavy that it would be impractical. hmm....

just a penny for your thoughts.
